Training Director/1st Year Apprenticeship Instructor

Nathan Stockton  (Nate)        Local 840 member since 2016

Nate is currently serving Local 840 as its Training Director, 1st year Apprenticeship Instructor and Continuing Education Intructor.  He also serves as recording secretary for Local 840, has served as an executive board member, and assists with our Benevolence Committee.  Some of his other duties include: Aptitude Test Administrator and Craft Certification Evaluator.  Nate has experience in medium voltage cable terminations and splicing as well as experience as a Foreman.  He has been an instructor for Local 840 since 2023 and resides in Geneva, N.Y.

2nd Year Apprenticeship Instructor:

Wesley Bennett  (Wes)               Local 840 member since 2006

Wes is currently serving Local 840 as its 2nd year Apprenticeship Instructor and Continuing Education Instructor.  He also serves as Treasurer for Local 840 and founder of our Benevolence Committee.  Some of his other duties include: OSHA Outreach Trainer, NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace) Trainer, CPR/AED/First Aid Trainer and Confined Space Entry Trainer.  He completed the first 2 years of the Electrical Training Alliance’s National Training Institute program and is slated for his 3rd year in July of 2026.  Wesley has experience as a Foreman and Project Manager, has been an instructor for Local 840 since 2022 and resides in Geneva, N.Y.

3rd Year Apprenticeship Instructor:

Brock Hepler       Local 840 member since 2019

Brock is currently serving Local 840 as its 2nd year Apprenticeship Instructor and Continuing Education Instructor.  He has a background in refrigeration, heavy equipment repair, and information technology.  Brock is a U.S. Marine Corps. Veteran and has experience as a foreman. He has been an instructor for Local 840 since 2024 and resides in Phelps, N.Y.

4th Year Apprenticeship Instructor

Robert McDermott  (Rob)    Local 840 member since 2010

Rob is currently serving Local 840 as its 4th year Apprenticeship instructor and Continuing Education Instructor. He has a background in production line maintenance, conveyer system fabrication, and motor control.  Rob has experience as Foreman, General Forman, and Project Manager and is a U.S. Marine Corps. Veteran.  He has been instructing for Local 840 since 2024 and resides in Seneca Falls, N.Y.

5th Year Apprenticeship Instructor:

Robert Sampson  (Rob)         Local 840 member since 2013

Rob is currently serving Local 840 as its 5th year Apprenticeship instructor and Continuing Education Instructor.  He has a background in facility maintenance, high voltage switching and terminations, as well as extensive experience in CAD software, BIM modeling, the utilization of Robotic Total Stations and Digital Coordination.  Rob also has experience as a Foreman and Drafting Team Manager. He completed the first 3 years of the Electrical Training Alliance’s National Training Institute and is slated for his 4th year in July of 2027.  Rob has been an instructor for Local 840 since 2021 and resides in Geneva, N.Y
